2018

As 2018 draws to a close it's time for the annual swarm of photographers posting their annual review posts, so here is mine.

The end of 2018 also saw the end of my time in London and with at Rex Shutterstock as a staff photographer, I have decided to move to Australia to begin life as a freelancer. It has been a pleasure working on some of the world's biggest events with some of the nicest and most talented people in the industry, hopefully 2019 will be as enjoyable as 2018!

Lenten Rites

On Good Friday, thousands of Filipino Christians engage in violent acts of penitence in a tradition which dates back to the 1950's. Near the city of San Fernando, north of Manila, hundreds of men have their backs cut open and then parade through the streets whipping themselves in with wooden flails until their backs are completely blood soaked. The day takes on a bizarre festival atmosphere as children run around following the penitents and vendors sell sweets, souvenirs and pets to visitors who flock to see the annual spectacle.
